Well now, HERE'S something. Remember when I was talking about the Chandeldeer? Maybe?
My illustration class has been really weird about deadlines. So I had this baby half finished for about a month, then finally got some time to complete it yesterday!
He took a really long time to make... but I'm really proud of how he came out.
His main body/head was machine sewn (I had some problems with the fabric getting stuck in the sewing machine while making this... gahhh) Decorative stuff is either glued on with a glue gun or handsewn Antlers are made of a thick wire for the base, a small set of 10 christmas lights wrapped around it, and then strips of fabric soaked in glue were wrapped around the exterior.
It amazes me that you can come up with this kind of stuff. ^^ He's so cute, but at the same time he's... I dunno, elegant? If that makes sense? I guess sort of like a porcelein doll? Anyway, I love it. <3
Oh woooow now that is just the coolest thing ever Gosh, all the little details are so lovey, the lace and the chain, especially the lights! You should really make more of these, I'm sure people would be willing to hand over a nice lump of cash for something like this ;D
This is super cute and very cozy feeling. It would be fun to keep him as a little nightlight in your room on a stormy night. I like his body, the fabric is very pretty. I just love his eyes too, they are gorgeous. The antlers are of course amazing and the face that they have lights is great! I bet my mother would love this. She always has some kind of little lights like this on and also seems to have tons of deer related decorations.
IF ONLY THERE WERE AN EASIER WAY. It took at least a good 10 hours to make this guy. If I could make them faster, I'd totally sell them... but for now, he's just a one-of-a-kind novelty item that I can't bear to part with :<
