Chandeldeer by IceandSnow Chandeldeer by IceandSnow

Well now, HERE'S something. Remember when I was talking about the Chandeldeer? Maybe?

My illustration class has been really weird about deadlines. So I had this baby half finished for about a month, then finally got some time to complete it yesterday!

He took a really long time to make... but I'm really proud of how he came out.

His main body/head was machine sewn (I had some problems with the fabric getting stuck in the sewing machine while making this... gahhh)
Decorative stuff is either glued on with a glue gun or handsewn
Antlers are made of a thick wire for the base, a small set of 10 christmas lights wrapped around it, and then strips of fabric soaked in glue were wrapped around the exterior.

He's a little more than a foot tall.

So, yayyy, chandeldeer! He needs a name :0

Just out of curiosity, could you tell me what the prompt for this assignment was?

I'm really intrigued by art school assignments and want to try a few myself.

Thank you! :D

IF ONLY I COULD GET THEM MASS PRODUCED SOMEHOW. Because I can't part with this guy and making him was a long and painful process that I wouldn't care to repeat! xD

It amazes me that you can come up with this kind of stuff. ^^ He's so cute, but at the same time he's... I dunno, elegant? If that makes sense? I guess sort of like a porcelein doll? Anyway, I love it. <3

Gosh, all the little details are so lovey, the lace and the chain, especially the lights!
You should really make more of these, I'm sure people would be willing to hand over a nice lump of cash for something like this ;D

His name should be Oscar.
He should also live in my bed.
Please sell me him.
And every one of his children in the future.

This is super cute and very cozy feeling. It would be fun to keep him as a little nightlight in your room on a stormy night. I like his body, the fabric is very pretty. I just love his eyes too, they are gorgeous. The antlers are of course amazing and the face that they have lights is great! I bet my mother would love this. She always has some kind of little lights like this on and also seems to have tons of deer related decorations.:blackrose:

IF ONLY THERE WERE AN EASIER WAY.
It took at least a good 10 hours to make this guy. If I could make them faster, I'd totally sell them... but for now, he's just a one-of-a-kind novelty item that I can't bear to part with :<

He can stand on his own, but his head kinda flops around a bit because the antlers are kinda heavy. In the pictures he's leaning against a pillow behind him to keep him straight xD
