Apparently, Printmaking isn't a category on DA.

This is one of the things I did while at art camp. We did different methods of printmaking. For this one, we scratched into a rectangular piece of metal [zinc?] with a sharp metal stylus. It was a bit hard to see what you were scratching into it because the scratches only show up when you tilt it in a certain way.
Then you roll it with ink, and press it to paper, and BINGO. You have yourself a print.
You can use the same piece of metal multiple times, if you scrape off the top layer and then draw a new image into it. So, I did four of these total. The first two were complete crap, so I won't be posting them here. >D

This was the 3rd image I did, and I think I really like how it came out.
Yes, it's a creepy cat. Yes, the anatomy is probably off... a lot. I couldn't really see what I was doing. </lame excuse>
hahaa, yeah. But it really has a neat effect nonetheless.

I also realized while I was doing these that I ALWAYS draw crescent moons facing the other way. So it looks really weird for me when it's flipped. xD

Oh, and the actual image is pretty small... I think about 4"x5"... I'm not sure.

Ooh, we did these in school, but with a piece of plexiglass instead. It's hard, and very messy! D: But this is cool. I like how only the 'glowy' parts are wiped totally clean. It's sort of a creepy old type image.

(And there is a printing category on dA, under Traditional > Printing. <3)
